Trump Administration Blocks Biden from Accessing Security Briefings

Trump Administration Blocks Biden from Accessing Security Briefings

The Trump administration made a controversial move on Friday by blocking former President Joe Biden from accessing sensitive national security information. This decision, according to Trump, was a direct response to Biden's earlier actions.

Trump's Justification

President Trump announced that Joe Biden would no longer be granted access to classified intelligence briefings, a tradition extended to former presidents. Trump justified this decision by pointing to Biden's own actions after the January 6th Capitol attack.

According to a statement on Truth Social, Trump stated, "There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information, especially considering the precedent he set in 2021." This precedent referred to Biden's directive to halt Trump's access to national security details.

Criticism from Trump

Furthermore, Trump referenced the findings of special counsel Robert Hur's 2024 report on Biden's handling of classified documents. While no criminal charges were recommended, the report highlighted Biden's alleged "poor memory" in dealing with sensitive information.

"The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from 'poor memory' and could not be trusted with sensitive information, even in his 'prime.' I prioritize national security above all else - Joe, you're fired. Make America Great Again!"

Response from Biden

Shortly after his inauguration, Joe Biden reciprocated by revoking Trump's access to daily intelligence briefings, citing concerns about Trump's behavior and the necessity of the briefings.

As of now, a spokesperson for Biden has not provided an immediate response to Trump's latest decision.
