Meloni echoed Vance and former President Donald Trump's viewpoints, asserting that Europe has been negatively impacted by 'wokeness,' bureaucracy, and mercantilism.
She criticized those who were quick to condemn Vance, suggesting that if similar concern had been shown for Europe's strategic autonomy, economic ties to autocratic regimes, and border security threatened by illegal migration, the continent would be stronger today.
